We take a quick look at the photography scene in and around the Aberystwyth area of West Wales during our trip to the Philip Jones Griffiths exhibition opening.
Since the summer of 2014 visual artist Matt Wright has been travelling across the country capturing 360° viewpoints of Wales’ unique and varied historical landscapes. From these high-resolution images, the artist has created a number of spherical photographic sculptures that are subsequently installed back at their exact point of capture within the environments they document.
Ffoton Wales spoke with Edinburgh-based artist and curator Alastair Cook about the various photography and visual arts projects he's involved in - including the formation of the UK-wide artist/photographer collective Documenting Britain.
